WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT STAGES IN TRIAL IN PRIVATE COMPLAINT?

The Trial of the Case begins with the Accused after receiving Summons enters into defence by receiving copy of the Complaint and typeset. The Second stage is Accused Counsel to Cross Examine the Complainant immediately after his Chief heard by the Court.

[It is important to note that readers should not get confused or compare the preceding stage – when the Complainant deposed himself in the Witness Box and recorded his statement with the one now examined by the Court in the presence of the Accused. The preceding stage was called Sworn Statement and the present stage is called Chief Examination.] Whereas, the third and final stage is Oral Arguments / Memorandum of Arguments.
