When a woman is subjected to harassment [of any type] by her Husband and / or by her in-laws then such harassment is called Domestic Violence. Domestic Violence is broadly classified into four types;

1. Physical [brutal assault, damaging limbs or causing bodily damages, caricature]
2. Emotional [threaten / intimidation / blackmail]
3. Verbal [speaking unparliamentarily / deplorable words, sexually coloured remarks]
4. Economic [not taking care of her economically or putting her into unsustainable living condition or invoking such condition that she can’t live decently]

When a woman is said to have passed through anyone of the four types mentioned above, it is for sure that the woman has right to repudiate such abominable overt act of her husband and / or her in-laws under The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.
