Section 166-B of Cr.P.C. deals with a situation in which the country outside India requesting the Court or an authority for conducting investigation in India.
Over a request came in a letter from the competent authority or a Court of a foreign country for examination of a person and or to secure documents relating to the offence commissioned in their land, the Central Government if deems fit;
Forward the letter of request to any one Court [Chief Metropolitan Magistrate or Chief Judicial Magistrate or Magistrate or Judicial Magistrate] who is appointed for such purpose. The recipient Court summons the person and record his statement or cause / produce the document as it is mandated.
Send the letter to any Police Officer for the investigation and who shall investigate into the offence in the same manner as he does as if the offence is committed within India.
Whatever evidences thus collected the same shall be forwarded by the Police Officer to the Magistrate and or directly to the authority in Central Government who forwarded the request letter.
