We all know when Gandhi was asked what “Freedom to him?” He promptly replied when a woman of this Country safely ventures out in the midnight that was true freedom to him. Yesterday we celebrated this noble man’s birthday – in reality did we take his words in building this Country in the past seven decades on the lines of his thought on Freedom, we shamefully say no!
Today we are in the midst of purposefully created wedge – Religion and Caste – never before in the History, our thought process and our understanding to differentiate good and bad have reached to the bottom as we are in now.
Bool Garhi is a small Village in the Hathras Block of Mahamaya Nagar District in Uttar Pradesh. In which a Dalit Girl was gang raped and she was then admitted in a local Hospital, later she was transferred to Delhi’s Safdurjung Hospital, where she succumbed to her brutal injuries on her limbs and body. We have seen in the media condemnation by our leaders irrespective of caste and creed, faith and belief and beyond ideology differences of politics against the brutal sexual assault of this young girl.
A day ago Additional Director General of Police [Law & Order] of the Uttar Pradesh confessed to the media that the Girl was not raped as her medical examination report shows no sperm on her private parts – so it was not a rape, he concluded. A brutal assault on the law and order of the State that this ADG spearheads, lest we forget for a moment the people who caused her to death! The Police have failed to subject her into medical examination in the first 72 hours of the sexual overtures but subjected her examination after 7 days – therefore Doctors could not find any sperm on her body.
Yesterday, a National Dalit Leader who earns his bread and butter on the blessings of the present dispensation openly acknowledged that the attacks on Dalit was due to latter becoming more educative and resourceful than before. We never knew what the Leader wanted to say; is it sin for a Dalit to get acquainted with education and resources?
What many of us could not digest is – in the name of law and order, the local Administration cremated the victim’s body in the midnight, even, not allowing her parents, relatives, neighbours and friends to pay her a last respect. The Allahabad High Court suo moto enters into the matter and now monitoring the progress of the case if we go by the media reports.
Today media [genuine] reports brought to light that the Bool Garhi Village has become a Fort, wherein the Village’s all entry and exit points were sealed and no one is allowed to access to the Villagers and on top of it all communication devices of the family members were seized by the Local Administration.
Freedom of Speech is now under control in the Bool Garhi Village!
