MODERN DAY HATE SPEECH MONGERS!

The Stay granted by the Supreme Court against a News Channel – telecasting a programme portraying particular community in bad taste has brought out in public a moot question – by staying the show, whether the Apex Court has taken away the rights of expression guaranteed under Part III of the Constitution of India?

Equally another question that arose on our minds on the backdrop of such restraint – whether a Journalist has any special privilege in publishing, airing and telecasting such hate news in his news medium? The answer is No.

Neither the media nor the man who manages [read journalists] the media are having any special provisions to do so under the law! Article 19 of the Constitution of India guarantees freedom of speech to one and all to its Citizens and without any ambiguity the rights to do any lawful things is distributed in equal terms irrespective of caste, creed, sex…

Then why media especially TV Channels gets away easily from the clutches of the law when they deliberately show programmes which clearly depicts hatred and encouraging divisions amongst various Faiths?

Fortunately, we have laws to penalize those abusers as well as preventing them from doing such blasphemous things anymore. However, the question is, who will make them accountable [of their sins]? The Regulators are mute spectators, they long back forgotten their prime responsibilities to serve this Country and they now literally gained the credentials [from Watchdog of the media] of a Pet Dog of their political bosses. This is the sorry state of affairs of our Country.

Unless we the people of this Country do not stop viewing of such hate contents and disown such TV Channels which literally challenges to the preamble of the Constitution of India there is no chances of good sense to prevail amongst those Channels.
